"IV Aunt": "Just Earned a Little Extra, Not a Doctor or Nurse... No Knowledge of Park Narae"

Account and Name in Former Manager's Texts Confirmed as Hers
But Claims "No Recollection of Administering IV to Park Narae"

The so-called "IV Aunt," who is suspected of administering illegal medical procedures to broadcaster Park Narae, has admitted to some of the procedures but denied any direct involvement with Park Narae. She acknowledged, "I did it just to earn a little extra money for side dishes," but firmly denied the former managers' claims that she administered IV fluids to Park Narae, stating, "I don't remember that at all."

"IV Aunt": "Just Earned a Little Extra, Not a Doctor or Nurse... No Knowledge of Park Narae" Broadcaster Park Narae. Ann Park

Admission of Illegal Procedures, Denial of Connection to Park Narae

Previously, Park Narae's former manager revealed, "After a broadcast shoot in July 2023, Park Narae received an IV from someone she had never met before at a hotel in Gimhae," and disclosed text messages exchanged with "IV Aunt" Ms. A. The messages included the address of the hotel where Park Narae was believed to have stayed, the cost of the injection, Ms. A's bank account number, and a discussion about the payment status.

On December 15, Ms. A confirmed to Munhwa Ilbo that the name, bank name, and account number shown in the text messages were indeed hers, but when asked whether she had administered a medical procedure to Park Narae at that time, she replied, "I have no idea." When asked if she knew who Park Narae was, she responded, "Yes, she's a comedian," but repeatedly insisted, "I don't remember at all" whether Park Narae had received any illegal treatment from her.

"Not a Doctor or Nurse"... No Medical License

Ms. A admitted that she is not a licensed medical professional such as a doctor or nurse. When asked if she had obtained a medical license, she replied, "Absolutely not," adding, "Before the separation of prescribing and dispensing, I worked at a hospital for a while, and the local pharmacy would send me medicine, so I made a little extra money for side dishes. Then I quit and haven't done anything since."

Ms. A also stated that she has not continued illegal medical procedures, saying, "Since the separation of prescribing and dispensing, I haven't done it at all because I can't get any medicine," and added, "It's been a long time since I stopped. I'm older now, and my eyesight isn't good, so..."

Whether Park Narae Knew They Were Unlicensed Becomes Key Issue

Meanwhile, Park Narae is also suspected of receiving illegal medical procedures such as IV infusions from another individual, Ms. B, known as "Injection Aunt," at places other than medical institutions, such as officetels or vehicles.

The key issue going forward is likely to be whether Park Narae was aware that both Ms. A and Ms. B were unlicensed. If Park Narae knew this and still requested the procedures and used their services repeatedly, she could be considered an accomplice. Previously, Park Narae's side refuted allegations of receiving illegal medical procedures and proxy prescriptions from Ms. B, stating, "She received nutritional supplements from a licensed doctor."
