Daewoo E&C Discusses Local Business Cooperation with Turkmenistan Leadership

Kim Bohyun, CEO of Daewoo E&C, visited Turkmenistan for five days starting from December 10, meeting with Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, the National Leader of the Nation, and Serdar Berdimuhamedov, the President, to discuss local business cooperation and other matters, the company announced on December 15.

This visit was made upon invitation to the 30th anniversary event of the Declaration of Permanent Neutrality held in Turkmenistan. In the country, this is considered the most important national holiday after Independence Day, and among Korean companies, Daewoo E&C was invited.

During his meeting with National Leader Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, CEO Kim stated, "Starting with the ongoing mineral fertilizer plant construction, we hope to further expand into various business sectors." The National Leader emphasized, "We highly value Daewoo E&C's activities in Turkmenistan within the framework of bilateral cooperation," and requested additional support for the company's ongoing projects in the petrochemical, gas plant, and infrastructure sectors.

In his meeting with President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, CEO Kim said, "We will increase the localization rate and focus on workforce development to create a mutually beneficial model for growth together with Turkmenistan." President Berdimuhamedov responded, "We want Daewoo E&C to actively participate in Turkmenistan's petrochemical and gas industries, which are of great importance to us," and added, "When I visit Korea next year, I would like to visit a Daewoo E&C project site."

After the groundbreaking ceremony in October, CEO Kim visited the local construction site to inspect the overall progress and encourage site staff. A company representative stated, "We plan to actively expand not only in the petrochemical plant business but also in various infrastructure sectors."
