‘Korea Fintech Week 2025’ Concludes Successfully

The majority of visitors to the fintech (finance + technology) event hosted by the Financial Services Commission indicated that they would return in the future.
On December 14, the Financial Services Commission announced that 12,692 visitors attended the 7th 'Korea Fintech Week 2025,' which was held at the Yangjae aT Center in Seoul from November 26 to 28. According to the commission, a survey of 1,354 visitors found that 94.17% expressed their intention to revisit the expo in the future. The event satisfaction rate was reported at 93.35%.
This year's expo explored the future of hyper-personalized financial services emerging from the convergence of fintech and artificial intelligence. The event featured a record scale with a total of 99 exhibition booths, participation from 128 companies and institutions, and 13 specialized seminars. Lee Eogweon, Chairman of the Financial Services Commission, attended the opening ceremony, toured the exhibition halls to experience firsthand the services provided by domestic fintech companies and new services offered by financial institutions utilizing fintech, and encouraged domestic and international participants.
During the three-day event, 13 specialized seminars were held, featuring renowned speakers from Korea and abroad. For example, Deepak Ramanathan, Vice President of SAS, stated in his seminar that artificial intelligence (AI) and agentic AI are the hottest topics and key drivers of business growth. He also emphasized that responsible and ethical governance must accompany the use of AI and highlighted important considerations for the adoption of AI.
Events aimed at addressing funding challenges and attracting investment were also held. Korea Development Bank conducted investment attraction (IR) sessions for five promising fintech startups (Softment, IO Aurora, PayHere, SwitchOne, and CNTech) with the participation of domestic venture capital (VC) firms and related organizations. It is reported that Hyosung Ventures, SBVA, Intervest, and others are reviewing potential investments in these companies. In addition, more than 25 professional investors, including managers of the Fintech Innovation Fund, provided 99 one-on-one consultation opportunities to companies seeking investment. Kwon Daeyoung, Vice Chairman of the Financial Services Commission, selected companies representing K-Fintech and supported their promotion and investment attraction. The K-Fintech 30, which has selected a total of 30 companies from 2023 to this year, will introduce newly revised support measures for selected companies next year.
A total of 187 teams participated in the fintech idea contest held on the last day of the event. After a fierce competition among the four teams that advanced to the finals, 'ThinkPlanDo' won the Chairman's Award (Grand Prize) from the Financial Services Commission, while three teams received Excellence Awards and five teams received Encouragement Awards, making a total of nine teams selected as winners.
The 'Korea Fintech Week 2026' event will be held for three days from November 25 to 27 next year at the Yangjae aT Center in Seoul. The Financial Services Commission stated, "We plan to reflect the feedback and needs collected from visitors and participating organizations at this event in various ways in next year's event and in the formulation of future fintech industry support policies."
