The People Power Party responded to the Innovation Party for National Renewal, which had sent them a "set of apples" demanding an apology for the martial law incident, by sending back a "set of pears." This move is interpreted as a call to halt the advocacy of the land ownership disclosure system, to stop admission irregularities, and to sever ties with sexual misconduct.

On December 12, the labor union of the People Power Party's secretariat announced in a press release that they had sent pears to the Innovation Party for National Renewal, stating, "30 billion Acro Ritz County Banpo? Stop advocating for the land ownership disclosure system, cut ties with double standards in admission irregularities and sexual misconduct," and explained that the pears symbolized a call to "double the speed."

This was aimed at Cho Kuk, the leader of the Innovation Party for National Renewal, who owns a high-priced apartment in Gangnam and had mentioned the land ownership disclosure system, as well as the controversy over sexual misconduct within the Innovation Party. On December 9, the Innovation Party for National Renewal had delivered a set of apples to the People Power Party as a return gift for Cho's courtesy call, leaving a message: "Apologize for the insurrection, sever ties with the far right! We hope for your courage."

The People Power Party returned the set of apples it had received from the Innovation Party for National Renewal, and the Innovation Party for National Renewal reported that it used both the returned apples and the newly received pears to wish for the demise of unconstitutional parties.

The public relations office of the Innovation Party for National Renewal announced, "Party officials will continue to do their utmost to fulfill the public's will for a complete settlement of the insurrection, which means making the People Power Party zero." Earlier, on December 3, the first anniversary of the martial law incident, Cho Kuk had stated, "We will defeat the People Power Party in next year's local elections and the 2028 general election, making the insurrectionist political forces 'zero.'"

The public relations office added, "We understand the returned apples as an apology from Jang Donghyuk, leader of the People Power Party, for refusing to participate in debates. This has become an opportunity for Innovation Party for National Renewal officials to reaffirm their resolve to work two, three, or even ten times harder for the complete settlement of the insurrection and to make the People Power Party zero."
