A Pet Culture Festival Connecting the Community for Both Pet Owners and Non-Owners
A Student-Led RISE Social Contribution Event
The university campus was filled with warmth.
Dongmyung University, a pet-friendly university in Busan, is organizing a comprehensive pet culture festival on campus.
On December 12, Dongmyung University will host the "1st Dongsup Anabada Pet Festival," a special pet culture event in collaboration with the local community, at the on-campus dog playground "Dongsup."
This pet festival will take place from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on the same day, featuring a variety of programs such as a pet supplies sharing and exchange event, a lecture by a behavior specialist, recreational activities, and the distribution of welcome kits.
In particular, interactive programs such as games for pets and their owners to participate in together, a pet quiz, and a pet talent show will further enhance the festive atmosphere.
Additionally, programs offering education on proper pet etiquette and hands-on activities for practicing environmental protection in daily life will be operated, contributing to the creation of a healthy pet culture where both pet owners and non-pet owners can interact and connect.
This event is being held as part of a community-engaged RISE social contribution project, with all programs planned and managed directly by Dongmyung University students.
Kim Dokyung, Dean of Dongmyung University’s College of Companion Animal Studies, said, "This festival is a representative example of a shared campus open to the local community, and it is significant not only for strengthening students' practical skills but also for establishing a pet-friendly culture."
Citizens wishing to participate in the event can register their donated items on a first-come, first-served basis at the venue on the day of the festival.
