The county meticulously checked the operation of heating equipment, the maintenance of indoor temperatures, ventilation structures, and safe movement routes at each facility. They also inspected the emergency contact system and the ability to respond to emergencies.

In particular, considering the characteristics of facilities mainly used by the elderly and vulnerable groups, the county identified areas with poor heating efficiency or complex movement routes on-site and took immediate action to address any necessary improvements.

The county operates a total of 297 cold wave shelters, mainly at senior centers within its jurisdiction. To improve accessibility for users, it also checked the heating maintenance standards and operating hours for each facility.

Additionally, the county installed heated benches at 58 bus stops and enclosed shelters at 13 locations frequently used by residents, strengthening preventive measures to ensure that cold-related illnesses do not occur while waiting for transportation.

Along with this inspection, the county plans to provide winter supplies such as neck warmers, gloves, and earmuffs to residents who have difficulty maintaining body temperature during winter, in order to protect vulnerable groups.

Choi Hunsik, the county governor, stated, "Even minor inconveniences can lead to significant risks during winter, so cold wave shelters must be places where residents can feel safe. We will continue to closely monitor facility management and swiftly activate response systems according to weather conditions."

Meanwhile, the county announced plans to continuously monitor cold wave shelters, which are key facilities for residents' safety during severe cold periods, and to actively strengthen emergency response systems to prepare for sudden cold waves.
