A Korean man was found dead in an apartment in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, prompting a local police investigation.
According to the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Ho Chi Minh City and local media outlets such as Viet Bao on December 9 (local time), a Korean man in his 30s, referred to as Mr. A, was found dead in the bathroom of an apartment in Ho Chi Minh City on December 7. A neighbor living on the same floor reported the incident to the apartment management office after noticing a foul odor. Local police are investigating the exact time of death, noting that Mr. A's body was severely decomposed.
The Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Ho Chi Minh City stated that immediately after the incident, it requested a prompt and thorough investigation from local police, notified the bereaved family of the death, and is providing consular support needed for funeral arrangements. An official from the consulate said, "An autopsy has not yet been conducted," adding, "We will decide in consultation with the bereaved family."
This is not the first time a Korean national has been found dead in Vietnam. On November 23, a Korean man in his 20s was found dead inside a large bag near an apartment in a residential area of Ho Chi Minh City. Local police arrested two Korean men in their 20s who fled by taxi after disposing of the bag containing the body.
