A scene of the school mascot deer entering a classroom and eating exam papers at a school in Sichuan Province, China, has become a hot topic.
According to the British Daily Mail on December 3 (local time), a deer quietly entered a classroom at a school in Sichuan Province, China, on November 3, and was caught on camera by students as it chewed on and ate exam papers.
In the video filmed by students, the deer was munching on a stack of A4 papers placed on a desk. This deer is the official mascot of the school and is known to roam freely around the campus.
A school official explained, "The deer has a gentle temperament, and students like it, often giving it food or taking pictures with it."
Experts analyzed that the deer's behavior is due to the plant fibers, which are the main ingredient of paper, being similar to its usual diet, and also because the deer is familiar with the classroom environment. However, they advised that even domesticated animals could cause accidental harm if startled by sudden noise or disrupt classes, so it is necessary to set up restricted activity zones.
