Three Hit Songs and Two Shorts Enter the Top 10
Choo Sung-hoon Ranks First Among Creators, Lee Suji Takes Second Place
The animated film "K-Pop Demon Hunters" demonstrated overwhelming presence in YouTube's "2025 Year-End Review" announced on December 3. In the Top Songs category, three tracks from the film-"Golden," "Soda Pop," and "Your Idol"-ranked first, third, and tenth, respectively. In the Shorts Top Songs category, "Soda Pop" took first place, while "Golden" came in second.
YouTube explained, "The songs have been used in dance covers, cosplay, and POV content, serving as a source of inspiration for countless Shorts creators." The platform added, "On the U.S. Top Songs chart, five out of the top ten tracks were K-pop songs, including those from the K-Pop Demon Hunters soundtrack."
The top spot for Most Popular Creator went to Choo Sung-hoon, whose honest and down-to-earth personality, along with his comedic everyday content, proved highly effective. Lee Suji’s "Hot Issue Ji," which gained attention for its persona comedy reflecting current social trends, ranked second.
Chef Ahn Sung-jae, who showcased the sincerity of a Michelin-starred chef, placed sixth, while "Jeongseobulan Kim Hamjji," who depicted office life through an AI hamster character and resonated with many, ranked seventh. YouTube added, "Creators with authentic charm and innovative content planning attracted significant attention."
The list of trending topics included three K-content titles: "K-Pop Demon Hunters," "When Life Gives You Tangerines," and "Squid Game." In gaming, Roblox and Mabinogi Mobile were particularly popular. New artists such as All Day Project, Hearts to Hearts, and Kim Yongbin, the winner of "Mr. Trot 3," also made the list.
In the Top Songs in Korea category, "Drawing" by WOODZ, which was rediscovered on YouTube, ranked second; "Morushinayo" by Jo Jazz came in fourth; and "Child of Beginning" by MAKTUB was sixth. Songs by G-Dragon, IVE, and BLACKPINK were also included in the list.
For Shorts, the global dance challenges "Paso Bem Solto" (third) and "Chess" (seventh), along with BLACKPINK’s "Jump" (fifth) and IVE’s "Rebel Heart" (sixth), inspired enthusiastic participation from creators. Indie artist Hyunseo’s "Spring Dream," which connected with viewers through Shorts and led to the song’s release, ranked ninth.
