"Boosting Year-End Consumption and Revitalizing the Local Commercial District"
On November 28, Hwasun County in South Jeolla Province announced that, in order to boost year-end consumption and revitalize the local commercial district, it will increase both the purchase and holding limits for local gift certificates to 2 million won per month throughout December.
Since September, the county has been selling mobile Hwasun Love Gift Certificates at a 15% discount through December. In addition, for one month in December, the purchase and holding limits for Hwasun Love Gift Certificates will each be raised to 2 million won.
However, paper gift certificates can be purchased up to a maximum of 300,000 won, and the existing 10% discount rate will continue to apply to paper gift certificates.
The mobile Hwasun Love Gift Certificates can be recharged via the 'CHAK' smartphone app and used for QR code payments at approximately 2,800 affiliated merchants within the county.
Park Yonghee, Head of the Local Economy Division, stated, "If the budget is exhausted, the program may end early, so we encourage residents to take full advantage of it within the period." He added, "When the purchase limit was temporarily raised last month, we saw a noticeable increase in local consumption, proving its positive impact. By expanding the limit again next month, we hope this will provide practical support for residents' livelihoods and the revitalization of the local commercial district."
