The Global Sharing Movement (Chairperson Kim Hyekyung) announced that at the keynote speech of the "Performance Sharing Meeting for Capacity Building in Performance Management of Domestic CSOs (Civil Society Organizations)" held on November 26 at the Best Western Premier Gangnam Hotel in Gangnam-gu, the importance of performance management and its future direction were presented under the theme of "Performance Management in Development Cooperation Projects."
In her keynote speech, Kim Hyekyung, Chairperson of the Global Sharing Movement, reviewed the historical trends of international development cooperation to explain how performance-based management has become the global standard. She outlined the key elements, application cases, and strategic significance of performance management. In particular, she emphasized that performance management in development cooperation projects is not merely about measurement but serves as a strategic decision-making tool, making it an essential, not optional, component.
The Global Sharing Movement, in collaboration with Buckella Co., Ltd., has been implementing the "Capacity Building Project for Performance Management in Domestic Civil Society Development Cooperation Projects" as part of the KOICA (Korea International Cooperation Agency) DAK Policy Cooperation Project. The initiative has carried out a variety of activities such as policy research, capacity building, and network activation with the aim of strengthening the performance management capabilities of civil society organizations.
Within this project, the Global Sharing Movement was responsible for network activation, organizing subcommittees in five areas: education, rural development, health, disability, and environment & climate change. Together with a total of 42 participants from 14 civil society organizations, they developed standard performance indicators and indicator definition documents. At this performance sharing meeting, the outcomes of these activities and cases of participation in domestic and international conferences were presented.
Kim Hyekyung, Chairperson of the Global Sharing Movement, stated, "Performance management is now a fundamental and essential element, not a matter of choice," and emphasized, "When organizations and field sites work together to strengthen a performance-oriented culture, the sustainability and effectiveness of development cooperation will be greatly enhanced."
