Pocheon City in Gyeonggi Province successfully concluded the "Educational Development Zone The Plus (The+) Learning Achievement Sharing Meeting - Time to Change Pocheon Education (hereinafter Pobasi)" at the Pocheon Banwol Art Hall Grand Theater on the 25th.

This achievement sharing event was organized to share the results of major projects promoted since Pocheon City was selected as a pilot (leading) area for the Educational Development Zone in July last year, and to reaffirm its commitment to becoming a future-oriented educational city. Approximately 900 citizens participated, demonstrating high interest in the event.


The event was attended by key figures leading the region’s educational infrastructure, including Baek Younghyun, Mayor of Pocheon; So Sung-sook, Superintendent of the Gyeonggi-do Pocheon Office of Education; Lim Jonghun, Chairman of the Pocheon City Council; Kim Yongtae, National Assemblyman; Jang Seokhwan, President of Daejin University; Seo Younggeo, President of CHA University; and Kim Seongdong, Vice President of the Educational Broadcasting System (EBS), as well as students, teachers, parents, and other citizens interested in education.


Notably, the event was co-hosted by Im Mihyeon, Vice Principal of Ildong Elementary School and author of the book "Choiil-i," and Choi Jinseo, a third-year student at Dongnam High School and winner of the Korean Broadcasting System (KBS) "Woorimal Gyeorugi" contest. Together, they effectively conveyed the purpose of the event, which was "Greater Learning."


The main program began with performances by the Youth Art School (Orchestra, Musical School), which is operated as part of the Educational Development Zone project. This was followed by a presentation from Baek Younghyun, Mayor of Pocheon, who introduced the major projects of the Educational Development Zone, highlighting the changes and achievements in Pocheon’s education and outlining future directions.


In the second part, titled "Pobasi Lecture," Yongmin Cho, CEO of Unbound Lab, gave a lecture on "Digital and Artificial Intelligence (AI)," while Hyejeong Yoon, instructor at the Educational Broadcasting System (EBS), spoke on "Self-Directed Learning," providing practical educational information to parents and students. The event concluded with performances by singer Lee Jaehun and Koyote, further elevating the atmosphere of the achievement sharing meeting.

In the outdoor plaza, a variety of experience booths were operated, including the Pocheon Education Photo Studio, face painting and nail art, tarot reading, and flower tea experiences, offering citizens a wealth of sights and activities to enjoy.


Baek Younghyun, Mayor of Pocheon, stated, "Today's achievement sharing meeting was a meaningful time to confirm the changes and progress in Pocheon’s education together with our citizens," adding, "Going forward, the community, schools, and citizens will continue to work together to make Pocheon the best premium educational city in Korea."
