NH-Amundi Asset Management announced on November 26 that the total net asset value of the 'Hanaro TDF Series' has surpassed 750 billion won.
According to Shinhan Fund Partners, as of November 24, the total net asset value of the Hanaro TDF Series stood at 762.6 billion won. After exceeding 600 billion won in August, it increased by more than 150 billion won in just three months. Thanks to stable and outstanding management performance, retirement pension funds, including default options, have been steadily flowing in.
The Hanaro TDF Series ranks among the top in the industry for long-term performance. As of November 24, the five-year returns by vintage were 59.24% for TDF2045, 57.87% for TDF2040, 50.94% for TDF2035, 43.15% for TDF2030, and 35.55% for TDF2025, placing first or second within the sector.
TDF stands for Target Date Fund, a type of retirement-focused fund that allocates assets by gradually reducing the proportion of risk assets and increasing the proportion of safe assets according to the target retirement year (vintage). Due to the nature of pension products, long-term performance is considered a more important evaluation criterion than short-term results.
The Hanaro TDF is characterized by incorporating about 30 years of global TDF management expertise through advisory from Allspring Global Investments (formerly Wells Fargo Asset Management), which launched the world's first TDF.
NH-Amundi Asset Management, through joint research with Allspring, has designed an asset allocation model optimized for the life cycle of Koreans. A dynamic risk management strategy, which enables a defensive response during periods of increased volatility such as sharp market declines, is also being applied.
Suh Jinhee, Head of Global Investments at NH-Amundi Asset Management, explained, "We are doing our utmost to improve the performance of the Hanaro TDF through collaboration with Allspring Global Investments." She added, "While our foundation is a long-term asset allocation strategy, we will continue to flexibly adjust the proportion of risk assets according to market changes and actively respond to exchange rate volatility through a dynamic currency hedging strategy."
