The Changwon Coast Guard rescue team is rescuing the driver from a vehicle that fell into the sea near Pier 4 of Masan Port and transporting him. Provided by Changwon Coast Guard Station
At around 3:19 a.m. on November 25, a sport utility vehicle (SUV) crashed into the sea near Pier 4 of Masan Port in Sinchon-dong, Seongsan-gu, Changwon, South Gyeongsang Province.
As a result of the accident, a man in his 50s, identified as Mr. A, who was in the vehicle, was rescued without consciousness or breathing and transported to a hospital. He regained his breathing at around 10:50 a.m. and is currently receiving medical treatment.
The Changwon Coast Guard received a report that a vehicle had fallen into the sea with a loud "bang" near Pier 4 of Masan Port. In response, the Masan Coast Guard substation's coastal rescue boat and the Changwon rescue team were immediately dispatched to the scene.
Upon arrival, the Coast Guard rescue team entered the water, broke the passenger-side window of the vehicle, and pulled Mr. A, who was in the driver's seat, out of the car.
They then performed emergency measures, including cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and handed him over to emergency services (119).
The Changwon Coast Guard is currently investigating the exact circumstances of the accident, including interviewing the person who reported the incident.
