First Anniversary of the Mureung Transportation Labor Union
On November 17, Ulleung County held a "Safe Driving and Kind Service" business agreement ceremony at Dodong Bus Terminal, together with Ulleung Police Station, Mureung Transportation, and the Mureung Transportation Crew Labor Union (Chairman Park Seongha).
This agreement ceremony was organized to mark the first anniversary of the founding of the Mureung Transportation Crew Labor Union. Its purpose is to improve the service quality of Ulleung County’s rural buses and to establish a culture of safe operation.
Approximately 60 people attended the event, including Nam Hankwon, Governor of Ulleung County; Nam Jinbok, Provincial Assemblyman; Choi Byeongho and Hong Seonggeun, Ulleung County Council Members; and Choi Daekeun, Chief of Ulleung Police Station.
The four organizations jointly declared six key action items: greeting passengers with a smile, prohibiting reckless driving, departing only after confirming passengers are seated, adhering to the dispatch schedule, maintaining vehicle inspections and cleanliness, and practicing courteous driving. After reading the safe driving resolution, they attached it to the rural buses.
During the event, plaques of appreciation were awarded to those who contributed to the development of public transportation and the establishment of a safety culture. In addition, experts from various fields were appointed as advisory committee members of the labor union to strengthen communication within the local community.
The Mureung Transportation Crew Labor Union also continued its community contribution activities. A scholarship ceremony was held for elementary, middle, and high school students on Ulleungdo, and a certificate of appreciation and a monetary gift were presented to Mr. Kim Hyosang, who has long dedicated himself to the development of local transportation.
Furthermore, all congratulatory donations received for the anniversary ceremony were donated as scholarships to the Ulleung County Education Development Committee, supporting the advancement of local education.
Governor Nam Hankwon stated, "Rural buses are the most essential means of transportation closely tied to the daily lives of county residents," and added, "I hope this agreement will further strengthen a safe and reliable public transportation environment."
Chairman Park Seongha of the Mureung Transportation Labor Union said, "We will continue to practice safe driving and courteous service to be a reliable means of transportation for Ulleung County residents," and pledged, "We will create a transportation culture that grows together with the community."
