"Local Participation Innovation" and "Community Contribution" Categories
Gwangju Seo-gu Council announced on November 18 that Assemblywoman Ko Kyungae and Assemblyman Paek Jonghan recently received awards in the "Local Participation Innovation" and "Community Contribution" categories, respectively, at the 2025 Korea Legislative Awards hosted by the Korea Press Media Group.

The Korea Press Media Group's 9th anniversary ceremony and awards event provided a meaningful occasion to recognize the hard work and dedication of recipients in various categories, including the 2025 Korea Legislative Awards and the Local Government Institution Awards.
Assemblywoman Ko Kyungae, who received the "Local Participation Innovation" award, has practiced participatory legislative activities by directly listening to residents' voices and reflecting them in policy through various forms of direct communication. She has also worked to establish a basis for guaranteeing residents' participation.
Assemblywoman Ko stated, "This award is not my achievement alone, but thanks to all the residents who have always been with me. I will continue to do my best to promote resident-centered participatory legislative activities for the transformation of Seo-gu and the improvement of residents' quality of life."
Assemblyman Paek Jonghan, who received the "Community Contribution" award, was highly praised for his dedication to resolving local issues and enhancing community welfare through the enactment of effective policies such as the ordinance supporting infertility treatment, as well as through budget reviews, administrative audits, free speeches, and district administration questions.
Assemblyman Paek said, "I am happy to receive this award, even though all I did was work to fulfill my promises to Seo-gu residents and keep my commitments to them. I will continue to do my best to keep my promises to the residents through my legislative activities."
