L&K Biomed announced on November 18 that its U.S. subsidiary, L&K Spine, participated in 'NASS 2025,' the world's largest international conference in the spine field, held in Colorado, United States, from November 14 to 16 (local time).
Founded in 1985 and celebrating its 40th anniversary this year, the North American Spine Society (NASS) is the most prestigious international society in the spine field, with more than 8,000 members worldwide. This year's event saw participation from approximately 300 global medical device companies specializing in spine care.
L&K Spine operated its own independent booth, actively promoting its new cervical expandable cage and plate products. Through meetings with leading spine hospital medical professionals and representatives from around the world, the company introduced its proprietary new cervical product line and lumbar expandable cages. The company also demonstrated the unique features of its products through live demos. In addition, L&K Spine held strategic discussions with major global spine implant companies regarding distributor agreements and plans to expand its market share in the U.S. expandable cage market in the future.
The cervical expandable cage, like existing expandable cages, is structurally designed to be inserted without exerting excessive pressure on the vertebral endplate, even in narrow surgical spaces. Another key advantage is that the height can be expanded after insertion, allowing for customized use tailored to each patient. Because the cervical region is smaller and more sensitive than the lumbar region, achieving the required strength and stability while maintaining the same functionality necessitates highly precise design and advanced technology.
A representative of L&K Biomed stated, "After continuous research and development, we have successfully developed the cervical expandable cage," adding, "Following various tests, we have confirmed excellent performance and are now introducing the product."
Additionally, the new cervical plate has been developed with an upgraded, user-centered safety mechanism, making it both convenient and safe to use.
In July, L&K Biomed began meetings with major global companies to expand the market for its expandable cage product line. Last month, the company met with European management from a global major company to discuss expanding its supply chain in Europe. At the North American Spine Society conference, L&K Biomed also held detailed discussions with executives from major global companies regarding collaboration and specifics related to product supply.
A representative of L&K Biomed said, "The joint collaboration with the major global company is proceeding smoothly according to the agreed schedule," and added, "Based on the finalized matters, the contract will be signed soon."
