The Construction Division of Samsung C&T Corporation has been officially selected as the main contractor for the reconstruction of the Daegyo Apartment complex in Yeouido, a project valued at 798.7 billion won. This marks the introduction of the first Raemian complex in Yeouido, with the new name proposed as 'Raemian Whites (YTTZ)'.

Samsung C&T announced on the 16th that it was chosen as the contractor at the general assembly of the Daegyo Apartment Reconstruction Association in Yeouido the previous day. The project involves constructing four buildings, each ranging from six basement floors to 49 above-ground floors, for a total of 912 residential units and various community facilities, on the site located at 41 Yeouido-dong, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul.

Since the establishment of the association in January last year, the project has progressed at the fastest pace among major reconstruction projects in Yeouido, with the maintenance plan announced just seven months later and the project implementation plan approved in 19 months.

The Daegyo Apartment reconstruction boasts a prime location with views of the Han River and is a triple station area close to Yeouinaru Station on Line 5, Yeouido Station on Lines 5 and 9, and Saetgang Station on Line 9 and the Sillim Line. Various amenities, including The Hyundai Seoul and IFC Mall, are within walking distance. The area is also noted for its excellent school district, with Yeouido Elementary, Middle, and High Schools, as well as abundant eco-friendly infrastructure such as Yeouido Hangang Park and Saetgang Ecological Park, making it a highly sought-after location.

The name 'Raemian Whites' reflects the ambition to create a top-end landmark along the Han River, drawing on Yeouido's reputation as the "Manhattan of Korea," and combining the concepts of a global trendsetter and true relaxation (ZEN).

The exterior of the complex was designed in collaboration with the world-renowned architectural design group Heatherwick Studio, featuring a streamlined facade inspired by the flow of the Han River and rooftop structures that express the movement of wind. Specialized lighting that artistically reinterprets the flow of light further enhances the landmark design, making it stand out in the area.

The Sunrise and Sunset Lounges, located on the top (46th) floors of the east and west residential buildings, are designed to maximize views of the sunrise and sunset, respectively, with panoramic windows offering residents the opportunity to enjoy both day and night landscapes of the Han River.

The complex also incorporates an elevated site design to take full advantage of its riverside location. The number of units with Han River views has been significantly increased from 623 in the original plan to 709. In areas separated from public pedestrian zones, exclusive underground spaces, lobbies, and themed gardens for residents will be provided.

The floating lobby, connected by a residents-only escalator, has been designed to instill a sense of pride among residents. The central plaza, spanning 10,624 square meters (approximately 3,200 pyeong), unites the entire complex with deck and arch-shaped bridges. It offers walking trails, a lake forest, and forest terraces with views of the Han River, providing a unique urban oasis where daily life and relaxation become truly special experiences.

The community facilities, occupying approximately 15,400 square meters (about 5.1 pyeong per household) across the first and second basement floors in a large atrium, will be the largest in Yeouido. This complex cultural space will offer a total of 68 programs, including a gallery, fitness center, golf range, and spa. On the first and second above-ground floors, various public community facilities such as a library, study rooms, daycare center, and senior club will be installed to enhance accessibility and convenience for all age groups.

Samsung C&T plans to maximize Han River views through a variety of specialized designs, including an innovative floor plan with up to eight bays, a panoramic open layout, and pocket terrace designs.

Based on this contract, Samsung C&T aims to accelerate its efforts to win additional large-scale redevelopment projects in the surrounding area, such as the Yeouido Siheom Apartment project, which is expected to be commissioned next year.
