In his inaugural speech, President Choi pledged to focus on the following key initiatives: seeking solutions to local housing welfare issues and realizing the value of the sharing economy; strengthening social contribution activities; contributing to the realization of a local community and job creation by enhancing cooperation with local governments and related organizations; and creating various opportunities for exchange to promote communication and unity among member companies.
President Choi emphasized, "Our region faces inevitable limitations in employment and economic revitalization if we rely solely on manufacturing," adding, "Revitalizing the construction industry, which is a key sector with significant forward and backward linkage effects, is more important than anything else."
He continued, "We will also actively expand our social contribution projects to match our status, and create various opportunities for exchange to foster communication and unity. Together with our member companies, we will ensure the association grows further and create an opportunity for the local housing construction industry to take a leap forward."
Former President Jeong Giseop said, "During my term, with the support of member companies and executives, we were able to carry out a variety of social contribution projects, including the renovation of aging homes for national merit recipients, support for social welfare facilities, and sharing of coal briquettes for those in need. I have also worked to improve key issues for member companies, such as construction lease guarantees and the comprehensive real estate holding tax."
He added, "I regret that we were unable to achieve improvements in the residential floor area ratio system for commercial areas to revitalize the old city center. I will actively support newly appointed President Choi Gapryul so that he can play a significant role in enabling the housing construction industry to make a new leap forward."
