This Honest Talk Meeting was organized to strengthen communication with residents and to listen to a wider range of opinions from the field. Cheorwon County was divided into two zones-Kimhwa-Galma and Cheorwon-Dongsong-for the event.
The event drew significant attention, with around 300 people in attendance, including Governor Jin Tae Kim, National Assemblyman Han Kiho (representing Chuncheon, Cheorwon, Hwacheon, and Yanggu-eul), Cheorwon County Mayor Lee Hyunjong, provincial council members Kim Jeongsu and Eom Giho, village heads, members of the residents' autonomy committee, the senior citizens' association, and various other community members.
Cheorwon County Mayor Lee Hyunjong said, "This visit reflects the governor's care for Cheorwon and his intention to listen to residents' concerns and respond to them promptly."
He added, "Cheorwon County has achieved visible results in regulatory reform, such as the easing of military regulations over 1 million pyeong and the removal of 34,000 pyeong from the agricultural promotion area."
He also stated, "To improve water and sewage treatment facilities, we have received about 6 to 7 billion won in provincial funding and are moving forward with the project. In addition, if the LPG pipeline project, which could not be implemented in the past due to local conditions, is now actively pursued in Sincheorwon and Wasu, residents will be able to use heating facilities much more conveniently."
National Assemblyman Han Kiho remarked, "It is meaningful to hear directly from the residents in my hometown today. If there are issues that should be reflected in policy, I will actively incorporate your opinions."
Governor Jin Tae Kim said, "On my way to Cheorwon today, I saw many welcome banners, which made me feel both touched and apologetic. I am especially grateful to Han Kiho for attending from the beginning, which is not common for a National Assemblyman."
He continued, "Cheorwon is the most effective among the 18 cities and counties. Out of the nine Rural Vitalization Promotion Districts, Cheorwon has two. I will listen carefully to what you share today and make sure your voices are reflected."

During the following communication session, residents raised a variety of suggestions and questions. There was an active Q&A session lasting over an hour in each zone, covering topics such as SOC (roads and railways), the easing of farmland and military regulations, tourism promotion, and everyday inconveniences.
Despite his busy schedule, Governor Jin Tae Kim was also asked about his health secrets and favorite Cheorwon foods. He replied, "I enjoy exercising, such as running or walking every morning. Everything tastes good when eaten in Cheorwon, but I especially like spicy fish stew."
