On November 13, a video titled "Why Did Lee Jihye Bring All the Gold She Saved in Her Life and Her Children's First Birthday Rings to Jongno?" was released on the YouTube channel 'Mipji Anheun Gwanjong Unni.' In the video, Lee Jihye visited Jongno 3-ga to sell her gold. She said, "Today, I brought all the gold I've saved in my life to Jongno," adding, "These days, the price of gold is 800,000 won per don. I thought this might be the right time to sell, so I brought it with me."

The place Lee Jihye visited was the shop run by YouTuber Lingling Unni, who operates a gold and jewelry store. Lee Jihye commented, "I'm a self-made person. Since I didn't inherit anything, I brought the trophy I received as an award," and joked, "I'll find out whether the items given by broadcasters are real gold or just gold-plated."

Lingling Unni appraised the items Lee Jihye brought. First, the golden key Lee Jihye received for winning the 'King of Kings' special on the SBS variety show 'Challenge 1000 Songs' was found to be 10 don in weight. Lingling Unni said, "That's worth 8 million won now," to which Lee Jihye replied, "I received it in 2011, and back then, gold was 70,000 won per don," expressing her delight. However, it turned out that the trophy was not real gold but a gold-plated imitation that stuck to a magnet, leaving Lee Jihye looking a bit deflated.

The total value of the gold Lee Jihye brought was 72,339,000 won. She commented, "That's enough to buy a car," expressing her happiness. She exchanged the jewelry for cash, but decided to convert the gold her children received for their first birthdays into gold bars for safekeeping.

Lee Jihye later mentioned the drop in gold prices, saying, "After this, the price of gold dropped significantly-about 100,000 to 200,000 won. You know, right? Life is all about timing. It's always best to make a move when you can."
