Inje County Honors 24 Outstanding Farmers
Mayor Choi Sangki: "We Will Spare No Effort to Achieve Successful Agriculture and Provide Support"
On November 11, Inje County in Gangwon Province held the "30th Agricultural Day Commemoration Event" at the Inje Gymnasium in celebration of Agricultural Day. The event was organized to honor and encourage the hard work of farmers who continue to protect local agriculture and produce high-quality agricultural products despite challenging circumstances.

The event, co-hosted by the Inje County Federation of Korean Rural Leaders, the Inje County Federation of Korean Young Farmers, the Inje County Federation of Korean Women Farmers, the Inje County Federation of Korean Home Economics Improvement, and the Inje County 4-H Federation, and organized by the Inje County Federation of Korean Rural Leaders, served as an opportunity to strengthen unity among farmers and to reaffirm the importance of agriculture as the foundation of the local economy.
Approximately 1,000 people attended the event, including farmers, members of agricultural organizations, and various guests. The program featured a commemorative ceremony, special performances, a food market, and promotional and exhibition booths, offering a variety of activities.
The commemorative ceremony began with a pre-event performance, followed by an awards ceremony for outstanding farmers. In recognition of their contributions to the development of local agriculture, a total of 24 individuals-including recipients of the top farmer award, outstanding farmers, and exemplary employees from agricultural and livestock cooperatives-were honored.
Notably, the "Inje County Top Farmer Award" is presented to those who have made exceptional contributions to agricultural development. This year, the awardees were: Jin Suknyeo from Inje-eup in the Women Farmers category; Lee Changseon from Sangnam-myeon in the Horticulture and Specialty Crops category; Park Sunkwon from Buk-myeon in the Livestock Management category; and Jang Gwiwhan from Nam-myeon in the Forestry Management category.
In addition, commendations were presented to leaders of agricultural organizations at the national and provincial levels, as well as to the county mayor and county council chairman.
The cultural program featured performances by the traditional fusion music group "The Gam" and invited singers, along with a variety of fusion Korean traditional music and trot performances, creating a lively and festive atmosphere.
In the area surrounding the venue, visitors enjoyed a food market, a chrysanthemum bonsai exhibition by the Chrysanthemum Bonsai Research Group, an exhibition of works from rural women's professional education, as well as displays on smart agriculture and agricultural machinery, all of which received an enthusiastic response.
Choi Sangki, Mayor of Inje County, stated, "I am deeply grateful for the sweat and dedication of our farmers who have steadfastly supported agriculture despite difficult weather conditions and realities. You are the strong foundation that sustains agriculture in Inje County. We will continue to support the realization of successful agriculture and the affirmation of the public value of rural communities."
