Jangseong County in Jeonnam Province announced on November 11 that its premium Hanwoo cattle achieved outstanding results at the 41st Jeonnam Province Premium Hanwoo Competition.
At the competition, which was recently held at the Suncheon-Gwangyang Livestock Cooperative livestock market, the county received the Effort Award in the Breeding Division 2 (awarded to farmer Kim Jongsun from Seosam-myeon) and the Excellence Award in the Breeding Division 3 (awarded to farmer Jang Haengsun from Jangseong-eup).
It is analyzed that these achievements are the result of systematically strengthening the competitiveness of the livestock industry through initiatives such as the Hanwoo Calf Brand Promotion Project, the Livestock Farm Competitiveness Enhancement Project, and the Forage Production Base Expansion Project.
This competition was hosted by Jeonnam Province and the Jeonnam Regional Headquarters of the National Agricultural Cooperative Federation, and organized by Suncheon City and the Suncheon-Gwangyang Livestock Cooperative. Outstanding Hanwoo cattle selected from 22 cities and counties in the Jeonnam region were entered and objectively evaluated for quality, body conformation, and meat quality.
Kim Hanjong, Mayor of Jangseong County, stated, "This is a valuable achievement made possible by the hard work and passion of our local livestock farmers," and added, "Building on this success, we will further accelerate efforts to establish a foundation for producing high-quality livestock products and to foster our premium Hanwoo brand."
