Naver Maps Surpasses 30 Million Monthly Active Users

On November 10, Naver announced that it is introducing a "Reservation" tab in the Naver Maps app, allowing users to view and book places, activities, and transportation options that support Naver Reservations all in one place.

Naver Maps is reorganizing its app tabs into the following categories: Discovery, Reservation, Public Transit, Navigation, and Saved. The update for the Naver Maps app will be rolled out sequentially starting today.

The newly introduced Reservation tab enables users to easily browse and book places and activities that support Naver Reservations. Through Naver Maps, users can make everyday reservations for restaurants, cafes, leisure and ticketing, experiences and classes, travel, and flights. In addition, users can check out nearby popular places available for reservation, reservation-related benefits, and special promotions. After making a reservation, users will receive reminders for their reservation schedules as well as recommendations for places to visit near their reservation location.

The Reservation tab also features a "Reservation Search" function. Unlike before, users no longer need to set filters for reservation availability or business type when searching for a place. Instead, they can conveniently find their desired location through the reservation search feature.

To enhance the experience for foreign tourists visiting Korea, Naver Maps supports the Reservation tab in multiple languages (English, Chinese, and Japanese) and offers content tailored for international users. The app also introduces travel products that allow foreign tourists to book restaurants for same-day reservations and visit popular attractions and tourist destinations in Korea.

Choi Seung-rak, Head of Naver Maps, stated, "We introduced the Reservation tab to cater to the characteristics of our users, 62% of whom are Millennials & Gen Z, so they can conveniently discover, book, and enjoy benefits through Naver Maps without the hassle of switching between multiple apps. Naver Maps will continue to evolve as an all-in-one platform that seamlessly connects online discovery with offline experiences and provides vivid spatial experiences."

Meanwhile, according to Naver, Naver Maps has surpassed 30 million monthly active users (MAU).
