Navi vs. Navi Conflict
Walt Disney Company Korea, the distributor, announced on November 10 that the third installment of the "Avatar" film series, "Avatar: Bulgwae Jae," will have its world premiere in South Korea on December 17.
The story unfolds as the clan of Jae, led by Barang (Una Chaplin), appears before the family of Jake Sully (Sam Worthington) and Neytiri (Zoe Saldana), who have lost their eldest son. Unlike the previously refreshing atmosphere, this film is set against the backdrop of Pandora, now engulfed in fire and ash.
"Avatar" attracted 13.33 million viewers in South Korea in 2009. It earned $2.9 billion worldwide and has maintained its position as the highest-grossing film globally for 16 years. "Avatar: The Way of Water," released in 2022, also succeeded in South Korea with 10.8 million admissions. Its worldwide box office ranking is third, with $2.3 billion in revenue.
Once again, James Cameron directed the film. The cast includes Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang, Kate Winslet, Una Chaplin, and David Thewlis.
