A special consumption promotion campaign is held every Friday to take the lead in revitalizing the local economy.

According to Sejong City on November 7, starting from this day, every Friday will be designated as "Warmth for Livelihood Day" as part of an innovation plan to create a "work environment that motivates employees."

According to officials, "Warmth for Livelihood Day" was established to encourage civil servants to take the initiative in boosting local commercial consumption amid the economic downturn, thereby fulfilling their social responsibility as public officials. The city will encourage employees to voluntarily participate in activities that support local businesses every Friday.

On "Warmth for Livelihood Day," department heads will allow civil servants to wear light and comfortable attire of their choice, within the bounds of maintaining professional dignity and compliance with work regulations, and will also encourage the use of flexible work arrangements for greater efficiency.

In addition, the city will expand the existing "Public Transportation Day," which currently takes place on the fourth Friday of each month, to every Friday. Employees will be encouraged to refrain from using private cars and to use public transportation instead. To further stimulate the local economy, the city will continue to close the staff cafeteria every Friday and actively promote a culture of dining out among employees.

Mayor Choi Minho stated, "At a time when the local economy is struggling, it is essential to promote consumption in local businesses to support small business owners. I hope that, through 'Warmth for Livelihood Day,' civil servants will actively participate and contribute to revitalizing the local economy."
