"Solo Leveling" to Launch in Q4
Eight New Titles Planned for Next Year
Netmarble achieved strong results, driven by a diversified overseas portfolio and an increased share of its own intellectual property (IP).
Netmarble announced on November 6 that its consolidated revenue for the third quarter of this year reached 696 billion KRW, with operating profit at 90.9 billion KRW. These figures represent increases of 7.5% and 38.8%, respectively, compared to the same period last year. Net profit for the quarter was 40.6 billion KRW, up 97.1% year-on-year.
The rise in revenue was largely attributed to the success of the massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) "Vampire," launched in August, and "Seven Knights Rebirth," released in May. Overseas sales amounted to 472.6 billion KRW, accounting for 68% of total revenue. By region, North America contributed 34%, Korea 32%, Europe 11%, Southeast Asia 8%, Japan 8%, and other regions 7%.
Additionally, the increased proportion of self-owned IP continued to drive down commission rates, resulting in an operating margin of 13.1%. Commission expenses, which include app market fees and royalties, totaled 224.9 billion KRW, down 7.2% from the previous quarter.
Netmarble plans to launch "Solo Leveling: Arise Overdrive" by the end of this year. Next year, the company is set to release a total of eight highly anticipated new titles, including Stone Age Idle, The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin, SOL: Enchant, Monster Taming: Star Dive, Solo Leveling: Karma, Evil Bane, Shangri-La Frontier: The Seven Supreme Species, and Project Octopus.
Netmarble CEO Kwon Youngsik stated, "This year, with the successive success of new releases such as 'RF Online Next,' 'Seven Knights Rebirth,' and 'Vampire,' we have once again demonstrated our competitiveness in the global market. Next year, we will further strengthen our game competitiveness with a number of highly anticipated titles and continue to deliver differentiated results unique to Netmarble in the global market."
