Protest by the Korean University Students Progressive Union Near the U.S. Embassy
March of Over 6,000 People Near Gwanghwamun Square
On Saturday, the 1st, both progressive and conservative groups held rallies across various locations in Seoul.

The Independent University Students' National Protest Group, which includes the Korean University Students Progressive Union, held an "Independent University Students and Citizens Rally" near the National Museum of Korean Contemporary History in Jongno-gu, close to the U.S. Embassy, in commemoration of "Students' Day" on November 3.
Approximately 100 participants chanted slogans such as "We denounce the United States for forcing predatory investments." The Korean University Students Progressive Union dismantled their protest site near the museum on this day, which had been set up on October 11 to denounce the United States ahead of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit in Gyeongju.
The Korean National Movement to Set the Country Right, led by Pastor Jun Kwanghoon of Sarang Jeil Church, held the "Gwanghwamun National Rally" near Donghwa Duty Free Shop in Gwanghwamun Square, Jongno-gu, with about 6,000 participants, followed by a march through downtown Seoul.
The progressive group Candlelight Action organized the 163rd Candlelight March near the Supreme Court in Seocho-gu, calling for the impeachment of Supreme Court Chief Justice Cho Hee-dae. About 800 people attended the rally.
