Park Wansu, Governor of Gyeongsangnam-do, visited the Miryang Culture and Sports Center on the 31st to meet with the citizens of Miryang.
At the "Provincial Residents' Win-Win Talk" held at the venue, Governor Park met with about 270 Miryang citizens to exchange opinions on local issues and policy tasks.
The "Provincial Residents' Win-Win Talk" is a field-oriented communication program designed to listen directly to residents' voices in their daily lives and reflect them in policy. It is being promoted to realize an open provincial administration together with the residents.

In his greeting, Governor Park said, "I am very pleased to be with the citizens of Miryang today," emphasizing, "Miryang is a city of culture and industry with a rich history and tradition, and with excellent transportation infrastructure such as railways and expressways, it has great development potential."
He continued, "Over the past three years, there have been various achievements for regional development, such as the designation of the Nano Convergence National Industrial Complex, investment attraction agreements, and the opening of Miryang Theme Park. Meaningful results have also been accumulated in the fields of culture and sports for all, including the designation as a cultural city."
He also expressed his gratitude, saying, "The Gyeongsangnam-do provincial administration has achieved results in various fields, including industry, people's livelihoods, and disaster response, thanks to the cooperation of the residents."
At the event, Miryang citizens made suggestions or policy proposals on a variety of topics, including support for childbirth and childrearing, welfare, and tourism.
One citizen, who gave birth to her sixth child this year, said, "The population of Miryang has dropped below 100,000. Support policies for childbirth and childrearing are not being properly implemented in the field."
In response, Governor Park said, "Although population decline is a nationwide phenomenon, Gyeongsangnam-do is seeing a slight increase in birth and marriage rates. We will actively support local governments so that population growth policies can be implemented without setbacks, including obtaining approval from the central government."
Another citizen said, "Park golf is an ideal sport that can be enjoyed by people of all ages, and the number of users is rapidly increasing," and requested the creation of a large-scale, unique park golf course on the Gyodong site.
Governor Park explained, "We will make it available to citizens free of charge, but the consent of related organizations such as the Nakdong River Basin Environmental Office is required. We plan to provide support when the procedures are carried out next year."
The head of the Miryang branch of the National Agricultural Cooperative Federation suggested introducing a dedicated card terminal, saying, "Although we promote the Hometown Love Donation Program at festival sites, many people give up due to complicated procedures."
Governor Park responded, "To make it easier not only for Miryang citizens but also for people who have moved away from their hometowns to participate, we will work with the National Agricultural Cooperative Federation to come up with a plan to introduce a dedicated on-site terminal system and propose it to the Ministry of the Interior and Safety."

Other opinions raised included expanding support for dental treatment costs for people with severe disabilities, improving the public seasonal worker system, maintenance projects for landslide-prone steep slopes in the Yongpyeong district, and supporting the Water Festival.
Governor Park said, "The valuable opinions shared here today will be actively reflected in the provincial administration, so that both Miryang and the entire Gyeongsangnam-do Province can grow together through these policies."
After the Win-Win Talk, Governor Park visited Yongdusan Park to check on the progress of the urban ecological restoration project and the ecological trail.
