The People's Livelihood Countermeasure Committee (Seominwi) announced on October 29 that it had submitted a complaint to the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency against Chairperson Choi on charges including abuse of authority, bribery, coercion, fraud, and violation of the Improper Solicitation and Graft Act.
In the complaint, Seominwi claimed, "Although her daughter had posted the wedding date on social media, another wedding ceremony was held this year during the National Assembly audit period at Sarangjae in the National Assembly, more than a year later. If congratulatory money and wreaths were received from audited agencies, causing them significant burden, this constitutes fraud."
Regarding the scene at the National Assembly plenary session on October 26, where Choi sent a message to her aides listing the names of agency and company officials who attended the wedding and the amounts of congratulatory money received, the group added, "This constitutes bribery."
Meanwhile, controversy over Chairperson Choi's child's wedding has remained a major issue throughout this year's National Assembly audit.
