Namyangju Creates a Warm, Inclusive Gathering with Autumn Comfort Event

The city of Namyangju in Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Joo Gwangdeok) announced that the 6th Comfort Gathering "Together Spreading Wings of Hope" with people with disabilities was held successfully on the 29th at Pyeongnae 2nd Public Parking Lot, attended by over 300 people, including people with disabilities and local residents.

This event was hosted by the Church Cooperative Newspaper and organized by the Neighborly Love Sharing Volunteer Association, with the Namyangju branch of the Korea Disabled Scholarship Foundation also participating. The gathering was arranged to deliver hope and courage to people with disabilities in the community and to share warmth and compassion.


The event included a worship and commemorative ceremony, an award presentation, and a meal with a comfort performance. Families of people with disabilities and volunteers from the region participated together, creating a warm atmosphere amidst the autumn ambiance. Attendees enjoyed performances, shared meals, and exchanged heartfelt sentiments.


Mayor Joo Gwangdeok, who visited the event, stated, "On such a beautiful autumn day, I hope that this gathering with all of you becomes a time to share abundance of heart and warm hope," adding, "The city will continue to spare no effort in implementing thoughtful policies and support to realize an inclusive welfare city where everyone lives together in harmony."


Meanwhile, the Church Cooperative Newspaper regularly holds comfort gatherings and volunteer activities for marginalized neighbors in the local community. The city plans to continue promoting various policies and support to improve the welfare of people with disabilities and foster social integration.
