The Busan-Jinhae Free Economic Zone Authority (Commissioner Park Seongho) announced that it held the "BJFEZ Manufacturing AI Briefing Session" for tenant companies at Shilla Stay West Busan on the 29th.


At this briefing session, over 60 representatives and employees from BJFEZ tenant companies attended to share AI-based manufacturing innovation strategies and new business plans for 2026, presenting directions for digital transformation in the manufacturing field.

During the lecture, Jo Yooseop, Head of the Gyeongnam Artificial Intelligence Innovation Headquarters, gave a presentation on "AI-Based Digital Manufacturing Innovation and Manufacturing AX Strategy." He emphasized that the rapid evolution of AI technology is transforming the paradigm of the entire industrial structure, and that promoting "manufacturing data-centric AX (AI Transformation)" is essential for securing competitiveness across the manufacturing sector.


Jo further stressed the importance of collecting, refining, and standardizing manufacturing data. He introduced a four-stage roadmap: ▲ development of foundation models for each region-specific industrial domain, ▲ demonstration and dissemination of AI solutions, ▲ manufacturing AX, and ▲ realization of Physical AI, outlining a step-by-step and systematic strategy for building an autonomous AI manufacturing ecosystem.


He also introduced major projects currently being carried out by Gyeongnam Technopark, such as ▲ the region-led manufacturing-specialized AI transformation project, ▲ demonstration and dissemination of leading AX factories, and ▲ support projects for advanced smart manufacturing. He emphasized his commitment to supporting local small and medium-sized enterprises in improving productivity and establishing a foundation for sustainable growth through AI technology.


Through this briefing session, the Free Economic Zone Authority shared the government's manufacturing AI and AX policy directions and the current status of digital transformation in regional industries with tenant companies, thereby promoting the spread of AI utilization and strengthening innovation capabilities at the corporate field level.


Commissioner Park Seongho stated, "The government's AI transformation policy is a core pillar of national industrial competitiveness, and BJFEZ will also expand field-oriented support to back the digital transformation of tenant companies."


Commissioner Park added, "We will continue to build a cooperative system so that companies can secure competitiveness in the global market by utilizing AI, data, and smart manufacturing technologies."
