In particular, he has continuously highlighted the medical realities in Jeonnam, the only province in the country without a medical school, and has emphasized the necessity of establishing a national medical school. Taking into account the regional characteristics of Jeonnam, which has many islands, he has consistently raised the importance of addressing medical disparities and expanding public healthcare.
He has also pointed out the government’s uniform regulations and rigid financial support systems, stressing the need for region-specific policies, and has made various proposals to realize local autonomy and promote balanced regional development.
Notably, to strengthen the legal and institutional foundation of local councils, he sponsored the 'Resolution Urging the Enactment of the Local Council Act' twice as the lead sponsor, contributing to the nationwide expansion of discussions on local decentralization and enhancing the status of local councils.
Assemblyman Jeon stated, "This award is the result of the collective achievements of all local councils that have nurtured grassroots democracy together," and added, "I will continue to do my utmost to ensure that local councils serve as true representatives of residents, so that the voices from the field lead to institutional improvements."
