Hana Securities announced on October 28 that its consolidated operating profit for the third quarter of this year reached 65.4 billion won, an 86.9% increase compared to the same period last year. During the same period, net profit was 62.8 billion won, up 24.1% from a year earlier.
The cumulative operating profit for the first to third quarters of this year totaled 184.2 billion won, while cumulative net profit reached 169.6 billion won. The company explained that it achieved stable profits this year thanks to a bullish stock market and active asset management. Not only did fee income in the wealth management sector improve significantly, but the investment banking division also delivered strong results in acquisition finance. The sales and trading division maintained its leading position in the issuance of derivative-linked securities and further stabilized earnings through effective risk management, the company added.
A Hana Securities representative stated, "We will continue to strengthen our business competitiveness by expanding stable profit bases in each business division and introducing innovative financial services, such as the integrated foreign investor account service."
