Ministry of SMEs and Startups Launches Global Startup Hub Task Force: "Aiming to Become Korea's Leading Startup Hub"

Noh Yongseok to Oversee Operations... First Meeting Held on the 27th
Six Teams to Prepare Operational Programs

On the 27th, the Ministry of SMEs and Startups announced that it has formed the "Global Startup Hub Task Force (TF)" and held its first meeting on the same day to ensure the swift establishment of the tentatively named "Global Startup Hub," which is scheduled to open early next year.

The Global Startup Hub is a large-scale startup infrastructure (with a total floor area of 13,275 square meters) being established near Hongik University in Mapo-gu, Seoul. It is designed as a global space to support Korean startups in expanding overseas and to help foreign companies settle in Korea. The hub plans to operate various programs for more than 250 domestic and international startups, focusing on global initiatives, open innovation (OI), investment, and university collaboration.

The Task Force will be led directly by Noh Yongseok, the First Vice Minister of the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, who will oversee the progress. Six teams will be formed to systematically prepare operational programs for each area. The General Affairs Team will be responsible for overall matters such as space development and planning, while dedicated teams will be set up for each major program, including the Global Team, OI Support Team, Investment and Finance Team, and University Cooperation Team. The Execution Support Team, which will handle practical support, will consist of the Korea Startup Promotion Agency and a private operating organization to be selected in December.

Vice Minister Noh stated, "With the opening of the Global Startup Hub approaching, I urge everyone to prepare thoroughly so that it can become a startup hub representing Korea on the global stage."
