President Lee Jae-myung introduced Korean foods such as Gyeongju bread and tangerines, stating, "K-Food is probably the best healthy food in the world."
President Lee made these remarks during a CNN interview released on October 25. While sharing Gyeongju bread with the host, President Lee said, "It really tastes good," adding, "If you come to Gyeongju, where APEC is being held, there is a high chance you will eat this bread."
He further suggested, "I hope you will try a lot of Korean food, experience Korean culture, and have a happy time during your visit to Gyeongju."
The interview venue featured apples produced in Andong, North Gyeongsang Province-President Lee's hometown-along with Jeju tangerines, gimbap, and yakgwa. Regarding the tangerines, President Lee explained, "They're different from oranges, but the taste is excellent. Once you try them, you'll see just how delicious they are."
When the host mentioned, "I heard that President Lee shed tears while watching the K-drama 'When Life Gives You Tangerines,'" President Lee responded, "It's a very uniquely Korean production. Although it tells the story of a very specific region-Jeju-and a past era in Korea, I was amazed that people around the world could relate to it."
Meanwhile, President Lee stated, "The pinnacle of culture is value and order," and remarked that the greatness of Korean democracy demonstrated by the people during the proclamation of the 12·3 Martial Law "could become a global standard."
