On October 23, Ulleung County in North Gyeongsang Province conducted a joint inspection with the Ulleung Police and the Korea Transportation Safety Authority to minimize the inconvenience caused to residents by traffic noise. The inspection focused on vehicle noise and illegal modifications.

The inspection concentrated on exhaust noise from operating vehicles, including motorcycles, in accordance with the Noise and Vibration Control Act and the Ministry of Environment's notification.
The main inspection items included: △ whether noise exceeds permissible standards, △ whether mufflers and covers have been removed, and △ whether additional horns have been installed.
For vehicles found in violation, the county will impose fines of up to 2 million won. If illegal exhaust modifications are confirmed, the county will issue an order to restore the vehicle to its original state or suspend its operation for two days.
Through this inspection, the county aims to actively address the issues of illegally modified vehicles and motorcycle noise in the area. Ulleung County plans to continue regular inspections and guidance to improve residents' quality of life and establish traffic order by reducing noise-related inconveniences.
County Governor Nam Han-gwon stated, "Vehicle noise is a significant issue that directly affects the daily lives and health of our residents. We will continue to inspect for noise and illegal vehicle modifications, raise awareness about traffic noise, and do our utmost to create a safe and peaceful living environment for everyone."
