Gwangju Urban Corporation (President Kim Seungnam) announced on the 23rd that on the previous day, the company delivered a portion of the revenue generated from the solar power plant at the rental apartment complex as energy support funds to the residents.

The solar power project, which has been promoted since 2021, utilizes the unused rooftop spaces of rental apartments. To date, a total of 667kW-scale power plants are in operation. Through this, approximately 852 MWh of eco-friendly electricity is produced annually, resulting in a reduction of 378 tons of carbon dioxide emissions each year.

Since 2022, a portion of the revenue from power generation has been returned to residents as energy support funds. Over the next 20 years, a total of 286 million won in support is planned to be provided.

President Kim Seungnam stated, "With rising energy costs making life difficult, I hope that the revenue from the solar power plant will be of some help to the residents," adding, "We will continue to do our best to become a public corporation that grows together with the local community."

Meanwhile, Gwangju Urban Corporation plans to continue implementing support projects based on solar power generation and to practice ESG management in collaboration with the local community.
