[Asia Smart Finance Awards] MTS Leading the Way in AI Finance

The 15th annual "2025 Asia Smart Finance Awards" hosted by The Asia Business Daily were established to identify the best mobile trading systems (MTS) in Korea and encourage further evolution toward more advanced services. As technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) continue to develop, securities firms are focusing on improving their MTS offerings, which are evolving day by day.

The Asia Business Daily, together with the ESG Metaverse Development Institute-a leading domestic organization specializing in website and mobile app evaluation and certification-conducted a comprehensive assessment to determine the top MTS in Korea. Using the institute's patented SM (Smart Mobile) Smart App Evaluation Model, the evaluation covered five categories: Customer Friendliness (A), Business (B), Content (C), Design (D), and Technical Excellence (E). The selection of award recipients was based on the first-round evaluation materials provided by the ESG Metaverse Development Institute, followed by input from the judging panel.

The "MTS Innovation Grand Prize," awarded by the Financial Supervisory Service Governor, went to Toss Securities. Myeongnam Moon, Dean of the College of Global Convergence at Sookmyung Women's University and Head of the ESG Metaverse Development Institute, who chaired the judging panel, commented, "The year 2025 marked a period when AI and digital innovation truly permeated the entire financial industry, including securities MTS, ushering in an era of AI transformation." He added, "Toss Securities led the democratization of investment with an easy and intuitive user experience, real-time earnings call translation, and an AI stock market calendar, earning them the Financial Supervisory Service Governor's Award (MTS Innovation Grand Prize)."

Kiwoom Securities ranked second overall and received the Excellence Award in the Innovation category. Dean Moon explained, "Through user-centric interface innovations such as Simple Mode and Conditional Search, Kiwoom Securities created a smart trading environment that satisfies both beginners and experts, earning them the Excellence Award in the Innovation category."

In the Customer Friendliness (A) category, Mirae Asset Securities and Korea Investment & Securities were joint winners. In the Business (B) category, Daishin Securities and Shinhan Investment Corp. shared the award. KB Securities and Hana Securities were joint winners in the Content (C) category, while Samsung Securities and NH Investment & Securities were recognized in the Design (D) and Technical Excellence (E) categories, respectively. Dean Moon stated, "Daishin Securities and Shinhan Investment Corp., which received the Excellence Award in the Business category, set a benchmark for AI business transformation through services such as centralized funds management and global trading support. Hana Securities and KB Securities were recognized in the Content category, Samsung Securities in the Design category, NH Investment & Securities in the Technical Excellence category, and Korea Investment & Securities and Mirae Asset Securities in the Customer Friendliness category, all demonstrating their competitiveness and innovation."

Dean Moon remarked, "Now that AI has become the language of finance, this evaluation demonstrated that 'user-centric data intelligence and trustworthy AI finance' are the new sources of competitiveness." He added, "Each securities firm has presented a direction for next-generation smart finance by combining technology, sensibility, and trust, significantly enhancing the global competitiveness of Korean MTS." He further noted, "Going forward, MTS is expected to evolve beyond a simple trading tool into a comprehensive asset management platform and a companion for financial life. To achieve this, continuous innovation is needed, including ensuring AI reliability, strengthening investor protection, and improving accessibility."
