Gumi City Launches Full-Scale Investment Drive at 'SEDEX 2025' "Semiconductors Start in Gumi!"

Operating a Joint Promotion Booth with KTL at Korea's Largest Semiconductor Exhibition
Attracting Companies by Showcasing the Strengths of the Semiconductor Specialized Complex and High-Tech Valley

Gumi City is participating in the 27th Semiconductor Exhibition (SEDEX 2025), held at COEX in Seoul from October 22 to 24, to actively promote Gumi's excellent investment environment and support policies to domestic and international semiconductor companies.

This exhibition, hosted by the Korea Semiconductor Industry Association (KSIA), is the largest specialized fair in Korea covering all areas of semiconductors, including memory, systems, equipment and components, and sensors. More than 280 companies and over 60,000 industry professionals are participating to share the latest technologies and industry trends.

At this event, Gumi City is operating a joint booth with the Korea Testing Laboratory (KTL), a leading domestic testing, inspection, and certification organization.

The city is running a "Visiting Investment Promotion Team" for semiconductor companies in the Seoul metropolitan area and across Korea, providing tailored investment consultations and actively promoting the city's investment environment and administrative and financial support policies.

In particular, the city is highlighting the outstanding location advantages of the Gumi National Industrial Complex, established in 1969, and the newly developing Gumi High-Tech Valley, including excellent power and water infrastructure, logistics accessibility, and a well-established system for supplying skilled labor.

Additionally, Gumi City plans to further enhance its investment appeal by introducing an industrial ecosystem and systematic support system that enable semiconductor materials, components, and equipment companies to grow stably.

The city is also seeking ways to identify promising companies through on-site consultations and support their market development and network expansion. Going forward, Gumi City, North Gyeongsang Province, and related organizations will collaborate to conduct on-site inspections and propose locations, while systematizing the investment attraction process so that consultations can lead to actual investments.

Meanwhile, in July last year, Gumi City was designated as a national advanced strategic industry specialized complex in the semiconductor sector (Gumi Semiconductor Specialized Complex). This designation is recognized as a key hub for stabilizing the semiconductor supply chain, which is concentrated in the Seoul metropolitan area, and as a cooperative base for equipment and component companies, leading the balanced development of Korea's semiconductor industry.

Gumi City Mayor Kim Jangho stated, "Gumi is a city equipped with the rich industrial experience of the national industrial complex, the innovative capabilities of the High-Tech Valley, and the logistics competitiveness as a hinterland city for the Daegu-Gyeongbuk integrated new airport. Through our participation in SEDEX, we will further expand cooperation with companies so that Gumi can emerge as a global hub of the semiconductor industry."
