Technical Cooperation and Localization of IFV and MCS for the European Market
Hanwha Aerospace is taking steps to boost the export capabilities of its partner companies. The company aims to achieve integrated growth for Korea’s defense industry by building a sustainable defense ecosystem through joint exports by large enterprises and small and medium-sized companies.
On the 21st, Hanwha Aerospace announced that it had signed a comprehensive business cooperation agreement (MOU) for export projects with seven partner companies-Youngpoong Electronics, Wonjin M&T, D&B, Dongsung Electric, Boguk Kangup, Hyedong, and Danam Systems-at the Seoul International Aerospace and Defense Industry Exhibition (ADEX) 2025 in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province.

The seven companies participating in this agreement are partners of Hanwha Aerospace in the export of Infantry Fighting Vehicles (IFV), Modular Charge Systems (MCS), and guided weapons. Hanwha Aerospace plans to work with these partners to explore technical cooperation for the localization and export of IFVs and MCSs to Europe, and to provide technical support and pursue joint development to enable stable mass production of high-precision guided weapons.
Additionally, the company will support its partners in recruiting and training personnel for overseas expansion, and will operate programs to improve quality and stabilize production. Hanwha Aerospace also plans to provide financial and cost support necessary for export expansion. The company stated that, by fostering collaboration between large and small-to-medium-sized enterprises, it aims to strengthen the rapid delivery and competitive pricing that are the strengths of Korea’s defense industry, and to overcome the trend of “intra-European defense prioritization.”
At ADEX 2025, Hanwha operated a “Coexistence and Cooperation Hall” for the first time at a major defense exhibition. By jointly exhibiting the products of 32 partner companies of Hanwha Aerospace and Hanwha Systems, the company highlighted the importance of mutual growth within the defense ecosystem.
Ryu Hayul, CEO of Youngpoong Electronics, stated, “Coexistence and cooperation are more important than ever to secure export competitiveness,” adding, “We will work together to ensure that the trickle-down effect leads to the strengthening of our partners’ capabilities.”
Cha Junho, Head of Purchasing at Hanwha Aerospace, said, “Hanwha’s growth is impossible without our partners,” and emphasized, “We will continue to prioritize coexistence and mutual growth as our core values and will pursue a variety of cooperation programs in the future.”
