PPP to File Complaint Against Min Junggi Over 'Undisclosed Information Stock Trading Allegations'... Now Subject to Investigation

Targeting Special Prosecutor Min Junggi:
"Mocking 13 Million Retail Investors... Unfit to Lead Investigation"
On Vice Minister Lee Sangkyung's Controversial Remarks:
"An Infuriating Out-of-Touch Statement"

On the 21st, the People Power Party announced plans to file a complaint against Special Prosecutor Min Junggi, who is investigating allegations related to First Lady Kim Keonhee. The complaint centers on suspicions that Min profited from stock trading using undisclosed information.

Song Eon-seok, floor leader of the People Power Party, stated at the National Assembly's audit countermeasures meeting that day, "Special Prosecutor Min Junggi no longer has the qualifications to continue the investigation and has lost public trust. Now that Min Junggi himself has become the subject of an investigation, he must resign from his position as special prosecutor."

He added, "The allegations that Special Prosecutor Min Junggi invested using undisclosed internal information not only mock 13 million retail investors but also seriously undermine market order. Special Prosecutor Min should step down and be investigated."

He continued, "Special Prosecutor Min claims there was no illegal activity, but then he must clearly disclose when he purchased the stocks, from whom he purchased them, and with what funds. Whether or not there was any illegality is not for him to decide; this must be determined through investigation and trial."

Floor leader Song also continued his criticism of the government's October 15 real estate policy. He said, "President Lee Jaemyung's administration and senior officials of the ruling party enjoy economic benefits with assets worth billions of won, while telling the public to 'become monthly rent refugees' and 'live with a three-hour commute from the outskirts.' Stop mocking the working class and young people who do not own homes."

He particularly criticized First Vice Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Lee Sangkyung for saying on a YouTube channel, "You can buy a house later when prices stabilize," stating, "The public sees this as an infuriating out-of-touch remark. How can a responsible government official tell people to save money and buy a house while blocking all loans?"

He further argued, "Senior officials of the Lee Jaemyung administration are displaying blatant hypocrisy and double standards. While lecturing the public that taking out loans is speculation, they themselves own real estate worth billions of won." He continued, "President Lee himself owns an expensive apartment in Bundang expected to benefit from redevelopment, and 20 out of 30 presidential aides own real estate within regulated land transaction zones. How can they enjoy all these privileges themselves while telling the public to give up? What kind of thinking is that?"
