Buk-gu, Gwangju to Hold 'KBS National Singing Contest' After 7 Months

Buk-gu, Gwangju announced on October 21 that it will hold the 'KBS National Singing Contest,' which was postponed last March due to wildfires. The main recording will take place at the Dongkang College sports field at 2 p.m. on November 6.

The preliminary round will be held on October 31 at the Hajungwoong Art Hall in the Pung-hyang Culture Center of Gwangju National University of Education. After the first and second rounds of judging, approximately 15 teams will advance to the finals. On-site registration will be available on the day of the preliminary round to recruit about 80 additional participants.


The main recording will be hosted by MC Nam Heeseok, with invited singers including Park Sangcheol, Kang Moonkyung, Yoo Jina, Lee Jeongok, and Lee Miri performing on stage. Depending on weather conditions, the venue may be changed to the Dongkang College indoor gymnasium.


The broadcast is scheduled to air on KBS 1TV in February next year.
