At the National Assembly's Public Administration and Security Committee audit held that day, Acting Commissioner Yoo said, "The head of the National Investigation Headquarters is currently assessing the situation on the ground and discussing response measures with Cambodian authorities."
He also announced, "Through next week's bilateral meeting with the Cambodian police, we will discuss the establishment of a Korean Desk and the creation of a permanent cooperation system, and will pursue effective response measures to swiftly ensure the safety of our citizens."
Acting Commissioner Yoo remarked, "The ever-evolving and increasing number of scam crimes are making life even harder for ordinary people." He added, "With the newly established pan-government integrated response team at the center, we are responding to voice phishing crimes in real time, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, without interruption. We are also making every effort to reduce crime damage by relentlessly tracking down and apprehending criminal organizations based overseas."
