Mayor Lee: "We Will Continue to Support the Expansion of Self-Sufficiency Projects"
Yongin City in Gyeonggi Province announced that the fourth branch of "Bapgwahamkkeramyeon," a market-entry self-sufficiency project for vulnerable groups in the city, opened near Dankook University on October 16.

About 30 people attended the opening ceremony, including Lee Sangil, Mayor of Yongin City, and officials from Yongin YMCA, the corporation operating the local self-sufficiency center.
"Bapgwahamkkeramyeon" began in August 2018 as a social service-type snack bar launched by the Yongin Regional Self-Sufficiency Center to create jobs and help vulnerable groups achieve independence in Dongbaek-dong, Giheung-gu.
Since then, the first branch of "Bapgwahamkkeramyeon" has grown into a market-entry snack bar business and became an independent self-sufficiency enterprise in August 2023. In October of the same year, the second branch opened in Dongbaek 2-dong, Giheung-gu, and in September last year, the third branch opened in Samga-dong, Cheoin-gu, completing trademark registration with the Korean Intellectual Property Office.
The newly opened fourth branch was funded by 70 million won from a project grant awarded by the Korea Self-Sufficiency Welfare Development Institute in April this year, as well as 70 million won from the Yongin City self-sufficiency fund.
In particular, the store’s interior design and construction were handled by Hanuri Architecture Co., a local self-sufficiency enterprise, establishing a virtuous cycle of social job creation and self-sufficiency business.
This project has become a successful case of self-sufficiency, serving as a model for other municipalities. Seongnam Mannam Regional Self-Sufficiency Center learned cooking and store operation methods from the second branch of "Bapgwahamkkeramyeon" and opened the Seongnam Mannam branch in July last year.
Mayor Lee stated, "Yongin City leads the nation in regional self-sufficiency projects," adding, "The city will continue to support and encourage the opening of more Bapgwahamkkeramyeon branches across the country."
