According to the city on October 16, the event is organized by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the National IT Industry Promotion Agency, co-hosted by the SW Future Creation Jeonbuk Center and Daegu Center, and supported by North Jeolla Province, Namwon City, and the North Jeolla Provincial Office of Education, among others. In connection with the '2025 Namwon International Drone Festival with Robots,' it will be held as a comprehensive technology festival that combines future mobility and advanced robotics technologies.

A total of 22 teams, consisting of 54 elementary, middle, and high school students from across the country, have registered for the competition. Among them, there are 12 elementary school teams (34 students) and 10 middle and high school teams (20 students).

The elementary division will be conducted as a one-day program, while the middle and high school division will operate as an intensive overnight program, providing customized education and hands-on experiences tailored to the participants' levels and focus.

Student participants will assemble and code RC cars as teams and compete in obstacle racing events. Through this, they will be able to strengthen not only their software coding skills but also their abilities in collaboration and creative problem-solving.

The event is expected to play a significant role in providing opportunities to experience future mobility technologies and in increasing youth interest and enthusiasm for advanced technologies.

Mayor Choi Kyungsik stated, "This competition is a meaningful opportunity for young people who will lead future society to experience advanced technologies firsthand and grow," adding, "Namwon City will continue to provide a variety of educational programs and support so that youth can develop creative and integrative capabilities."

Meanwhile, the SW Future Creation Project is a digital education expansion initiative led by the Ministry of Science and ICT. North Jeolla Province and Namwon City are working together to expand software and artificial intelligence education opportunities for local youth and systematically strengthen their basic digital skills. Last year, the city opened the SW Future Creation Jeonbuk Center, focusing on AI and software education and field-based instructor training, thereby solidifying the foundation for regional digital education.
