Lee Changyong, Governor of the Bank of Korea, attended the 14th Trilateral Meeting of Central Bank Governors of Korea, China, and Japan, held on the sidelines of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and World Bank Group (WBG) Annual Meetings in Washington, USA, on the 15th. Governor Lee exchanged views with Pan Gongseng, Governor of the People's Bank of China, and Kazuo Ueda, Governor of the Bank of Japan, on recent economic and financial trends in the three countries.
Since 2009, the central banks of Korea, China, and Japan have been holding annual meetings of their governors on a rotating basis to promote mutual understanding and cooperation, and to ensure economic and financial stability in the region. The Bank of Korea is scheduled to host next year's meeting.
