Ukrainian Crypto YouTuber
Found Dead in His Car
"Felt Depressed Due to Financial Difficulties"
The virtual asset market experienced a historic plunge last week following President Donald Trump's remarks about China, and amid this turmoil, a well-known cryptocurrency YouTuber active in Ukraine was found dead.
On October 11 (local time), Ukrainian police announced that YouTuber Konstantin Galich, 32, was found dead inside his own Lamborghini in the center of Kyiv.
Kyiv police reported that a firearm registered under Galich's name was found at the scene. The police stated, "Galich told his relatives a few days ago that he was feeling depressed due to financial difficulties and also sent farewell messages." They are currently investigating all possibilities, including homicide and suicide.
Galich was the co-founder of the trading academy "Cryptology Key" and was a widely recognized influencer in the international virtual asset community. He attracted attention for his luxurious lifestyle, owning vehicles such as a Lamborghini Urus, Ferrari 296 GTB, and Mercedes-Benz 220 CDI.
Recently, it was reported that Galich suffered losses amounting to approximately 30 million dollars (about 43 billion won) due to the cryptocurrency crash. It is known that a significant portion of these losses included investors' funds.
"571 Trillion Won Vanished in a Day"... Roller Coaster Ride Triggered by Trump's Remarks
The catalyst for the plunge was a social media post by President Donald Trump, in which he threatened to impose an additional 100% tariff on Chinese goods starting next month in response to China's announcement of strengthened export controls on rare earth elements. Within 24 hours of President Trump's announcement, the value of the cryptocurrency market evaporated by about 400 billion dollars (approximately 571.8 trillion won).
However, the market quickly rebounded after President Trump abruptly delivered a conciliatory message the next day. On his social media, President Trump stated, "The United States is not trying to harm China but to help," and added, "Do not worry about China. Everything will be fine."
