Kia Hope and LG Chem announced on October 15 that their educational social contribution project, "Like Green," held a discussion on the YouTube channel "Daedamhae," which promotes ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) culture, under the theme of "LG Social Campus." The live broadcast took place at the "2025 Korea Social Value Festa" held at COEX in Samseong-dong, Seoul. The discussion featured Park Jaehwan, a professor at Chung-Ang University's Department of Business Administration, and Kim Haewon, CEO of the climate tech company Thanks Carbon, who discussed the topic of "LG Social Campus."

During the discussion, Professor Park Jaehwan explained, "LG Social Campus uses the term 'fellow,' which carries significant meaning as it supports innovative leaders in realizing their dreams of creating social value." He also noted, "Impact investment is a means of open innovation, and LG Social Campus also seeks out companies with ideas and innovations that can grow together, working collaboratively," emphasizing the importance of impact investment from a business perspective.

Kim Haewon, CEO of Thanks Carbon, who was selected as a fellow of LG Social Campus and is currently engaged in various collaborations, stated, "When I started the business, I was hopeful that we could reduce greenhouse gases and restore nature while also creating new business opportunities in the paradigm shift toward decarbonization." He added, "Even small ideas in our society can have a significant impact." He further emphasized, "Impact investors decide whether to invest not only based on financial returns but also by quantitatively evaluating outcomes such as greenhouse gas reduction and nature restoration effects. Therefore, it is essential to present measurable results to be recognized by investors."

▲Green Umbrella, Porsche Korea, and Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education Establish Two New '2025 Porsche Dream Circles'

Green Umbrella (Chairman Hwang Younggi) announced on October 15 that, together with Porsche Korea and the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education, it has established two new "Porsche Dream Circles." The "Porsche Dream Circle" is a school landscaping project that began in 2020 and marks its sixth year in 2025. This year, Green Umbrella and Porsche Korea invested approximately 265 million won to newly create Dream Circles at Samjeong Elementary School and Wolgye Elementary School in Seoul. Including the two schools added this year, the project has now reached a total of 14 schools.

The Dream Circle at Samjeong Elementary School in Gangseo-gu, Seoul, transformed a previously unmanaged garden into a straight walking path, creating an environment where students can safely walk in nature and personally care for plants selected for all four seasons. Additionally, a wooden deck was built under a shade structure for students to rest comfortably, and solar panels were installed to allow students to experience renewable energy firsthand.

The Dream Circle at Wolgye Elementary School in Nowon-gu, Seoul, is notable for turning a school that previously lacked shade and rest areas into a natural retreat. Various types of trees, including birch, maple, and dogwood, were planted, and the lawn area was divided into four sections with different types of seating to allow students to relax freely. A rock garden featuring wetland plants and basalt stones was created to evoke a forest atmosphere, and an eco-friendly rainwater circulation system was installed so that students can directly experience the value of ecological environments.
