From October 17 to 19 at Dakseom, an uninhabited island in Haenam, Jeollanam-do
The Korea Tourism Organization announced that it will be recruiting participants for an uninhabited island off-grid camping event to be held from October 17 to 19 at Dakseom, an uninhabited island within the Oceano Tourism Complex in Haenam, Jeollanam-do.
Participants will enjoy activities such as "backpacking," which involves carrying equipment and moving around after arriving on the island by kayak, "bushcraft," where they learn survival skills in the wild, and "off-grid camping," which means living without external energy sources such as electricity or running water. At night, participants can immerse themselves in the unique charm of the tranquil uninhabited island, where only starlight and the sound of the sea blend together, and connect with nature.
Dakseom, the uninhabited island within the Oceano Tourism Complex, has never been open to the public since the Korea Tourism Organization began developing the area in 1992. Dakseom preserves its pristine natural environment, making it the perfect place for "rough camping," an experience that has recently gained popularity among camping enthusiasts who enjoy embracing inconvenience.
Detailed information regarding the uninhabited island camping event can be found on the website of the 2025 Jeonnam Camping Tourism Expo.
Lee Sanghoon, Head of the Regional Tourism Development Team at the Korea Tourism Organization, stated, "Through this event, participants will be able to experience the true essence of camping with unique activities only possible on an uninhabited island," adding, "The Korea Tourism Organization will continue to introduce experiential programs unique to Oceano, contributing to the revitalization of the local economy."
During the same period, the 2025 Jeonnam Camping Tourism Expo will be held at the Oceano Tourism Complex. As the largest camping expo in Korea, visitors can enjoy a variety of camping programs set against beautiful natural scenery.
